New instrument for Tacrolimus and Cyclosporine analysis
From Tuesday 12th October, the Biochemistry department will be analysing samples for tacrolimus and cyclosporine using a new instrument (liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)).
The new method has passed our internal validation process, and we identified no significant change in performance compared to results generated by the previous method.
There is no change to the sample type required (EDTA whole blood) or the way that the test is requested. Results generated using the new instrument will be identified by a laboratory comment appended to the report.
