Revised Vitamin D Clinical Pathway
Evidence-based clinical guidance on the testing and treatment pathway for vitamin D Deficiency in adults has been agreed locally and can be seen here.
As part of our strategic aims to facilitate the requesting of the right test on the right patient at the right time, we have developed a revised requesting pathway in the ICE requesting system that will offer guidance on when vitamin D test should be performed. This system will be piloted for 2 months from April, after which we will review its effectiveness and gauge user’s views on its useful ness and usability. Please note that at no time will the requesting of vitamin D be blocked.
