Albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR)
Background:
Assessment of glomerular function in patients with diabetes mellitus or hypertension
A first morning urine sample is recommended. If urine is too dilute, the ratio cannot be calculated.
Reference ranges:

Results outside the reference range do not necessarily indicate disease. Similarly, results within the reference range do not preclude abnormality. Please contact the Duty Biochemist for discussion of individual patient results
