Fructosamine
Background:
Monitoring of diabetes mellitus in patients with haemoglobin variants, or where HbA1c analysis is inappropriate. Please supply full clinical details supporting referral for analysis.
Fructosamine analysis is not suitable for diagnosis of diabetes in patients with haemoglobin variants. In these patients, fasting glucose is recommended for diagnosis.
