Background:
Testing for the presence of human leucocyte antigen B27.
To support the diagnosis ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and other spondyloarthropathies. However, HLA-B27 alone cannot confirm nor rule out a diagnosis.
NOTE: Inappropriate requests for genetic tests may be rejected by the laboratory. Please provide as much relevant clinical details as possible. Rejected samples will be stored in the laboratory for two months.
