Immunoglobulins
Background:
Quantitation of IgG, IgA, and IgM for assessment of immune function e.g in patients with immunodeficiency, abnormal LFTs or leukaemia/lymphoma
Age and sex specific reference ranges are provided.
Requests for immunoglobulins will be analysed for IgG, IgA, and IgM only. If myeloma is suspected, serum protein electrophoresis should also be requested, however, this will be added-on by the lab if immunoglobulin results are abnormal and clinical details are suggestive of myeloma.
